I was asked to make a "trinket box" by a curator for a museum/historical society after he had seen my work published in "Early American Life". The challenge was to make something in a small size yet have enough details to make it interesting. I loved making this piece and will continue making "trinket boxes" as a result.
This piece uses a box I built and the layer with Tramp Art. The interior is lined with hand dyed velvet. There are five "trinkets" insideā¦a Victorian shell button and four vintage Cracker Jack's prizes.
Approximately 55 pieces of hand cut and chip carved wood were used to create this original piece of art.
IF INTERESTED, I CAN MAKE A SIMILAR PIECE TO THIS TRINKET BOX.
